This is our 11th season in the Motorsports industry. It all started in the summer of 2008 when gas prices were skyrocketing. My brother told me that scooter companies were charging ridiculous amounts of money because of the demand. We decided to launch a scooter company whose focus was bringing affordable scooters to the marketplace. Our name came into being after my first test ride on a scooter. I told my brother these scooters are "fun to ride". We came up with our new company's mission. We will save our customers money (Eco); we will help add some fun into people's daily lives in this tough economic time (fun).
My brother and I opened shop as Ecofun Scooters that summer, selling scooters from a tent at a car lot each weekend. In 2009 we moved inside to a 120 square foot shared office and rented a 325 square foot garage to set up for servicing scooters. We also added Tao Tao kid's ATVs to our lineup and many kids (including my 4 kids) have had a blast on them ever since. In 2010, we increased our garage square footage to almost 1000 square feet and added a full-time service lift so we could help maintain our customers' scooters even better. With the sale of snowmobiles and ATVs increasing, we decided to modify our name to more accurately describe our business and thus became Ecofun Motorsports. By the beginning of 2011, we wanted to make it easier yet for our customers so we invested in a large box truck and installed a lift with a full-service setup. Many customers were very excited about the in-home service and it became an instant success.
By 2012, we had completely outgrown our current location and working morning to night the two of us could not keep up with the business. To solve this we recruited two more of our brothers to join our growing business (good thing our parents had 5 boys) and invested in a 3000 square foot warehouse to allow us to carry even more scooters and ATVs on hand so customers could get the color they want right away without any waiting.
In 2014, we took our warehouse to the next level by installing racking so we can carry almost double our inventory and added a second service lift and three times the shelving for carrying on-hand parts.
In 2015, we seized an opportunity to bring in the Lance brand of scooters. Lance is a very high-quality scooter line built by Sym in Taiwan which has been in business since 1954 and has sales over 1 billion dollars.
This past year we opened our brand new state of the art retail showroom. We now have more space for service and sales. We are now able to bring in the full SYM scooter line, add the great Bintelli Offroad kids ATVs, full Linhai Powersports line, and the all-new affordable Bintelli E-Bikes. Click on the video below to see the new showroom. We are very excited about the future and really enjoy the opportunity to get people out on the roads enjoying the beautiful state we live in. Stop in and visit one of us here at the shop-- we will be happy to help select the right scooter, motorcycle or kid's ATV for you.
